New Planning Incentives applied for and behalf of Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol

27th January 2011

Following the amendments to the Limassol Local Plan, the ‘Incentives for the Tourist Industry’ published in August 2011 and the new directive from the Minister dated 02 August 2011 we have carried out an analysis of the existing hotel accommodation and offered proposals in order to establish the possibility of exploiting the surplus ‘Building Coefficient’ area that arises and how it may be best used to upgrade the overall offer of the Hotel.

A Planning Application has been lodged with the Local Authorities on behalf of our Client, Amathus Public Ltd on the 15th June, 2012 showing how the area that is no longer calculated in the maximum allowable Building Coefficient, could be redistributed as new uses on various levels of the hotel. In summary the areas added are located as follows:

1. Additional floor on the main building accommodating 12No large suites,

2. 36No rooms over four storeys located over the hotel extension. The top floor rooms also connect to private roof gardens,

3. Conference facilities and break-out space at Mezzanine level adjoining the existing meeting/ conference rooms,

Also the existing basement parking is extended both laterally and vertically creating a multi storey car parking structure over the existing tennis courts that provides 120No parking spaces. The tennis courts are relocated over the new structure.
